This lovely treatment, a fusion of ancient ayurvedic and modern Western techniques, was developed by Kundan Mehta, of the London International School of Champissage. It is a gentle non-invasive approach to looking younger and does not use creams, oils or equipment, just precise techniques on the skin. It works primarily by freeing constrictions both within the facial muscles and in the connective tissue.
We all lead busy lives, and unfortunately the tension and stress that we undergo on a daily basis can take its toll on our appearance without us realising it. Some of our expressions over time become habitual – we all know someone with a deep frown or scowl. Muscles can actually dry up and contract, inhibiting freedom of expression. This can encourage ageing and the formation of wrinkles as the face loses its muscle tone and elasticity and begins to sag. By applying gentle massage techniques and energy balancing to the face, we may help delay this process.
The results obtained will depend on a number of factors such as age, skin type and lifestyle but clients may notice one or more of the following benefits:
In addition, the treatment also relaxes on a very deep level, leaving you with an increased sense of well being.
The treatment will be carried out with you lying fully clothed on a couch in a comfortable room. The facial starts with energy balancing, pressure point massage and releases to the whole face. Then the main facial massage takes place, first on the right hand side of the face, followed by the left. The facial massage concludes with some lymphatic drainage and energy balancing.
An individual plan of facial exercises and lifestyle advice will be discussed with you at the beginning of a full course of treatments to ensure maximum benefit.
Although lovely to receive as a one off treatment (perhaps before a special event or as a gift) since the effects are cumulative, a full course of between 6-10 treatments is recommended to optimise results, after which monthly maintenance treatments are recommended to maintain improvement.
